Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup regular or gluten free flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°, spray a 8 inch round or square baking dish or pan with cooking spray, set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl mix together the egg, cooking oil, sugar, and milk.
  • Add the flour, cocoa, baking, powder, baking soda, and salt, beat everything together.
  • Add hot water and mix, batter will be a little thin, pour into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick entered in center comes out clean.
  • Set on cooling rack. Frost cake after completely cooled.

Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1&1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1-2 teaspoons milk
  • Cream peanut butter and butter together until mixed.
  • Add powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon milk beat until mixed, add another teaspoon of milk if frosting is to thick, beat until fluffy.
  • Frost cooled cake, Serve and Enjoy!
