Chocolate Oat Flour Brownies

These brownies turned out really good and dense.  I like that they don’t have much sugar in them and I am pretty sure the oil can be cut down a bit.  I didn’t frost mine, but if you like something sweeter the frosting would hit the spot.   Depends on your mood.

Chocolate Oat Flour Brownies

1 cup oat flour (1&1/4 cups oats to grind)

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup baking cocoa

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/3  cup sugar

1/3 cup oil

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

Grind oats in processor, to resemble flour, place in mixing bowl

Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt

In a separate bowl add eggs slightly beaten, sugar, applesauce, oil, and vanilla . Mix thoroughly

Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients and make sure all is blended together

After completely blended pour into a sprayed round cake pan or square 8×8 baking pan

Bake @ 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Frost, dust with powdered sugar, or serve with whipped cream/topping, your choice.
