Rice Cooker Black Beans & Rice
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice (use rice cooker measure cup) (rinse rice before cooking)
- 1 can black beans about (15 ounce), drained & rinsed
- 1/3 cup diced green pepper
- 8 ounces broth, chicken beef, or vegetable
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1-2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1-2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Place everything in the rice cooker, stir. Push button down to start cycle.
- Stir again in a few minutes when it starts getting hot.
- Check a little bit later stir again.
- If liquid is gone, and the rice cooker hasn’t finished its cycle. It might start to stick a little on the bottom. If So, turn off and let sit for a few minutes with lid on to finish cooking.
- Garnish with cheese, green onions, more diced green pepper, or hot sauce if you like. Enjoy!
