Round Steak Mushrooms and Gravy
Ingredients
- 12 ounces round steak cut in to two pieces
- 8 ounce fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon your favorite seasoning blend, I used umami mushroom
- 4 carrots peeled, cut in thirds
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons corn starch, 3 tablespoons cold water
Directions
- Plug in small slow cooker set on high.
- Place the carrots and sliced mushrooms in the bottom of slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth.
- Mix all the seasonings and salt and pepper, to taste, together, sprinkle on both sides of steak pieces.
- Set seasoned steak in the slow cooker, turn slow cooker down to low.
- Cook for about 6 hours on low.
- Drain off liquid in to a small sauce pot, turn stove top burner on medium high.
- Mix the cornstarch with cold water, in a small cup, pour into the sauce pot with the beef liquid, stir until gravy thickens, turn off burner.
- Pour gravy over meat, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. Don’t forget the carrots. Serves 2, Enjoy!
