Turkey and Vegetables in Cream Sauce
Turkey and Vegetables in Cream Sauce or Turkey a la King?
- 3 tablespoons Butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup sliced frozen carrots
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1 can chicken broth, about 15 ounce
- 1 cup turkey (leftover) cubed or pieces
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- Salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
- Sprinkle a few shakes parsley for garnish
- Pick one to serve this creamy dish with: Stir in cooked Egg noodles or cooked Spaetzle, Pour over Biscuits, Mashed Potatoes, or Toast!
- (I used some homemade leftover drop (spaetzle like) dumplings.)
In a skillet on medium heat add butter, carrots, peas, stir in flour until smooth, slowly add broth, keep stirring or use whisk, cook until slightly thickened.
Add turkey and cream, reduce heat to low, cook until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Turn burner to simmer, until ready to serve.
