Chocolate Chip Banana Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten free or regular flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 large ripe banana mashed
  • 1/3 cup butter or shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or more to taste

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Spray an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan with cooking spray, set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl cream together the sugars and butter, add and mix together the egg, mashed banana, and vanilla.
  • Add the dry ingredients mix everything completely together. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter in the prepared baking pan, Bake in 350° oven for about 22-24 minutes.
  • Cool on hot pad or cooling rack, after cooled cut into 16 squares and serve. Enjoy!
