Bacon Belgian Waffles
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup gluten free or regular flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup bacon pieces or bits, cooked
- fresh fruit, maple syrup, butter, and whipped topping or cream for topping waffles
DIRECTIONS
- Plug in Belgian waffle maker, set on light, medium dark, or number for desired doneness color. I used #5, I like crisper darker Belgian waffles.
- In a medium mixing bowl add eggs, beat with a fork, next add milk beat together with fork.
- Add the sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt, stir in and mix completely.
- Next fold in the bacon pieces until mixed in evenly.
- When ready light is on add about a full 1/2 to 2/3 cup of batter to the middle of waffle maker, this will depend on the size of your waffle maker.
- Follow manufacturer cooking instructions for your Belgian waffle maker.
- When ready light comes on check waffle to see if will lift out easily, that is when waffle should be done.
- Transfer waffle to a cooling rack, repeat with remaining batter, should make about 3 large Belgian Waffles, if you don’t over fill it, like I did! Serve with your favorite toppings and Enjoy!
