Ground Beef Mushroom Skillet Pasta
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cans petite diced tomatoes, 14 ounces each
- 8 ounce mushrooms, sliced
- 2 teaspoons of each; garlic powder and onion powder
- 2 teaspoons dried basil and Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano, or more to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
- about 12 ounces of your favorite pasta shape (spaghetti, rigatoni, rotini, penne) cooked to package directions
- Parmesan or Romano cheese for top, when serving
DIRECTIONS
- In a large skillet add the olive oil, turn heat on medium, add ground beef, break up to smaller pieces and stir to brown on all sides.
- Sprinkle all the herbs and spices evenly over the beef, stir to completely incorporate.
- Add in the sliced mushrooms and diced tomatoes, stir to mix everything together.
- Allow to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring often. Reduce heat to low and simmer for another 10 minutes, this should allow some of the liquid to evaporate.
- Add pasta stirring until everything is evenly mixed. Turn off heat and serve. Top with grated cheese. Serves about 4. Enjoy!
