Chocolate Banana Belgian Waffles
INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cup gluten free or regular all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small mashed ripe banana
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- fresh fruit, maple syrup, butter, and whipped topping or cream for topping waffles
DIRECTIONS
- Plug in Belgian waffle maker, set on light, medium, dark, or number for desired doneness color.
- In a medium mixing bowl add mashed banana, eggs, cooking oil, and milk beat together with fork.
- Add the sugar, flour, balking cocoa, baking powder, and salt, stir in and mix completely.
- When ready light is on add about a full 1/2 to 2/3 cup of batter to the middle of waffle maker, this will depend on the size of Belgian waffle you would prefer.
- Follow manufacturer cooking instructions for your Belgian waffle maker.
- When ready light comes on check waffle to see if it will lift out easily, if lid doesn’t lift up easily, it is not done, it will separate and still be gooey in the middle. Leave waffle in for about another minute.
- Transfer waffle to a cooling rack, repeat with remaining batter, should make 2 large or 3 medium Belgian Waffles. Serve with your favorite toppings and Enjoy!
