Large King Cake Semi Homemade
MY version of a semi homemade easy, time saver, Large King Cake, it was a hit, delicious. Most of the time the King Cakes in our local stores in Florida are not fresh and are too expensive to waste your money…
Large King Cake Semi Homemade
Ingredients
- 2 cans flaky cinnamon rolls, 8 count each can
- 1 block cream cheese, 8 ounces, room temperature
- 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
- Plastic baby (if you have) or half pecan
- Colored sugars
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°, spray a large cookie sheet or pizza pan with cooking spray, set aside.
- Open each can and take out the whole dough roll of cinnamon rolls set on baking sheet to shape into an oblong circle. (Save the glaze included in cans, set aside).
- Stretch dough gently to meet both ends together. Flatten dough down slightly.
- With a sharp knife cut each roll to about 3/4 way through the perforation mark. Don’t separate rolls completely.
- Stretch dough slightly as needed to make your oblong circle.
- Push in and hide a plastic baby or a half pecan in the dough.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until dough is light golden.
- The dough will be dry if cooked to long, I like it light. It all depends on your preference.
- Place on cooling rack. After cooled move onto a serving platter. Frost with cream cheese topping.
- Sprinkle with colored sugars. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cut, Serve, and Enjoy!
- Cream Cheese Topping
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese on medium with a hand mixer.
- Add the glazes from both of the cinnamon roll cans, beat until mixed.
- Add the powdered sugar, beat until everything is blended and creamy.
