Easy Casserole less time consuming than making Cabbage Rolls, with just a few ingredients and it’s pretty tasty too…
Cabbage Roll Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef, browned
- 1 can petite diced tomatoes, 15 ounce
- 1 can tomato sauce, 15 ounce
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 2 cups cooked rice
- medium head cabbage, sliced and cut into small sizes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1&1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- rectangle size casserole dish
Directions
- In a large skillet with a lid add the olive oil and turn burner on medium, add the cabbage stir and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Turn burner down to simmer, put lid on skillet and let simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350° oven.
- In a medium sauce pan add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, onion and garlic powder, basil, stir in browned ground beef, cook for about 10 minutes, turn off and remove from heat, stir in cooked rice.
- Spread cooked cabbage into the medium casserole dish, pour meat, rice, sauce mixture over cabbage, stir to evenly distribute.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over top.
- Cover with foil and bake in a 350° oven for about 45 minutes.
- Set on cooling rack, let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
