Sausage Mushroom Rice

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 pound ground sausage, broken up and browned, drain fat if needed
  • 8 ounce package mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup instant rice (minute rice)
  • 1 & 1/2 cups beef or chicken broth, more if needed
  • 2 teaspoons no salt seasoning blend
  • 2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon minced dried onions
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

  • Turn burner on medium, in a large skillet, add the butter to melt, next add the mushrooms allow to cook for a few minutes while stirring.
  • Add the browned sausage and all the seasonings, stir.
  • Next add the broth stir to mix everything together, bring to boil and add the instant rice, allow to boil a few minutes, turn off burner and place a lid on top.
  • Let sit for about 10 minutes with lid on, to allow rice to finish cooking. Serves about 2-3. Enjoy!
